At summertime, when the skies go very dark, a thunder-storm is brewing. My moms would always tell me, “close the curtains, and switch all electrical stuff off, because the lightning might strike the house and kill us if you don’t…” As a kid, I always used to hate that. The other thing I remember about thunder storms as a kid, was that if it happened while I was at school, there would always be that one girl in class crying her eyes out…
I’m not so sure if Baltimore rapper Viktor Rasiia shares those same memories as I, but that’s the name of his latest project: Lightning Flashes, Thunder Crashes which is available to listen on soundcloud now.
The 10-track album has production from Cartier Jones, Tone Jones, G Money Baby, Mr Kooman and Rob Luna plus features from his sister Evon Rasiia, and Gov Mag. Rasiia explains the mix and blend of current gen hip hop and the thought-provoking music he has put into this project:
“#LFTC was all energy for me,” Viktor says. “Joy, anger, passion, sadness. I tried to make a song for every color across the emotional spectrum. To me, that’s what music is suppose to be.”
Album highlights include the track entitled ‘Tommy’, a heartfelt tragic story about his older brother who committed suicide and anyone else who can relate to this sort of pain, and the epic ’36 Chamberz’, a tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan which has been featured on our RePPiN4U Radio Show on BDSIR NETWORK every Friday nights 1amUK – 8pm EST (Cheap plug but it’s not because my boss pays for it!)
Lightning Flashes, Thunder Crashes is available for free download NOW, as well as his previous projects ‘The Viktor Rasiia Show’ and ‘The Legend of Natty Bohnz’. Follow the links below on how to get your copy.
