NEO TEMPUS – Davy Jones Ft. Jack

NeoTempus Davy JonesIf you are familiar with the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise, then you will know of the character ‘Davy Jones’… notorious captain of the Flying Dutchman and known for his voodoo arts. Jones is harsh, untamable and passionate, but fell in love with a woman who shared the same traits not knowing that she was actually a sea goddess. In human form she promised him that in 10 years they can be together when they meet ashore. This doesn’t work out too well and so Jones rips his heart out, locks it away in a chest as a result of being heartbroken, so that he can never give his heart to anyone again.

You see women act like they are the victims of betrayal and deceit, but it goes two ways. This is the character that Toronto rapper/producer Neo Tempus adopts as his new self-produced single ‘Davy Jones’, tells a story of how gave his heart to a woman he wants loved only to be played in the worst way, now the effects have him being without remorse.

In a track where he wishes death of cupid… “I’m Davy Jones/If I see Cupid/I’ma lose it and I’ma break his bones/I learnt my lesson/while messin’/I don’t stress them hoes…” Tempus explains the betrayal ridden track in his own words: “Davy Jones is an embodiment of the phase I went through due to heartbreak and disappointment. I got inspired from Pirates Of The Caribbean, they incorporated the tale of Davy Jones into the movie. When I saw that he cut out his heart and put it in a chest because he had been heartbroken, I instantly related to it. Pain can leave us heartless sometimes, and it definitely had me. So in this song I’m Davy Jones.”

‘Davy Jones’ is the new single from the album mixtape ‘Yours Sincerely’, and it is available for download now.  Click on the Download icon below!!!!
